Although he says sprinting is not his forte, today Freeman showed the spectators and his competition a fifth gear that is only seen on the World Cup circuit. Seventeen-year old Alice Nelson, from Hanover, NH, also led from the start this morning, winning the qualifier, her quarter and semi-final heats, but she came up against stiff competition in the Women’s Final – Stratton Mountain School’s Whitney Coombs (Putney, VT), Dartmouth College’s Susan Dunklee, and Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club’s Hannah Dreissigacker (Morrisville, VT).

<img decoding=)
