Once again, Podiumwear has teamed up with Olympic Gold Medalist Jessie Diggins on the design of these products. “Jessie’s input and feedback has been integral,” said Product Developer Kristine Larsen. “We are so excited about all the changes, which really revolutionize these cornerstone Podiumwear products.” In addition, Diggins specifically asked that we make a hat with a pompom as well as the cozy post-race pullover that we’ve named the Afton Pullover after Jessie’s home town here in Minnesota. The redesigned Gold Jacket boasts new fabrics, a new cut and lots of technical details, that together completely revolutionize the product . A new fabric with Dintex® technology on the chest, upper sleeve and collar provides the highest possible level of breathability with an membrane to prevent water and wind from coming in. A second ultra-breathable fabric at the back and inner sleeve areas wicks moisture to the surface while a third mesh fabric allows maximum ventilation at critical underarm sweat zones. A new streamlined cut and technical details like AquaSeal® reverse coil zippers and grip band at the bottom hem make this jacket a new gold standard for teams.

The men’s and women’s Gold Level Race Suit also has new fabrics: the first is lighter-weight micro-grid Poly-Spandex blend with amazing wicking ability; the second (used on the hip and thigh panels) is a more durable Velcro-resistant fabric with a cozy, brushed interior. Both fabrics hold color incredibly well so your team’s design will remain vivid no matter how much you stretch it. We’ve added even more panels -a whopping 33 on the men’s and 34 on the women – guaranteeing that no other race suit will hug the body as well.

The Details

Podiumwear Ambassador Jessie Diggins of Afton, Minnesota, is among 16 Americans named to compete at the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Falun, Sweden.

Having won the team sprint event, along with U.S. teammate Kikkan Randall, at the last World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy, Diggins is going to Falun as a reigning World Champion. Diggins also competed in the 2014 Sochi Olympics, and is coming off two top-five finishes in a World Cup event in Rybinsk, Russia.

“We are all very excited to see what she does in Falun,” said Podiumwear owner Reid Lutter. “Having watched Jessie compete from the time she was a youngster winning MN State High School Meets, I have seen first-hand what she is capable of in high- pressure situations. This is where she truly shines.”

In honor of Jessie being named to this year’s World Championship team, Podiumwear will be once again offering for sale special men’s and women’s Gold and Silver nordic suits designed by Jessie Diggins, herself. Black Friday Discount Prices on New Gold and Silver Race Suits designed by Jessie.

For the first time, Podiumwear Custom Sports Apparel will be holding a 4-day sales event starting on Black Friday and ending Cyber Monday.  These Black Friday prices will ONLY be available during this sales event.  New Gold and Silver nordic race suit designs will be available for both men and women.  There will be 7 new suits options, all of which were designed by World Champion and Podiumwear Ambassador Jessie Diggins.

During this 4-day event only, gold suits will be available for $160 (normally $195) and silver suits will be available for $140 (normally $160).  Not only is this a chance to buy individual Podiumwear race suits at the lowest possible price, it is also a fundraiser for Jessie.  A portion of the proceeds of each sale will go back to Jessie Diggins to help fund her world nordic tour.

The storefront will be open starting at midnight on Thursday, November 27th and will close on Monday, December 1st at midnight.  After this time, prices will go back to normal.  All suits bought during the sale will be sent out for delivery by December 10th, arriving with plenty of time before Christmas!

Podiumwear Makes Nordic and Alpine Suits for Kashi, BP and Citibank Skiing Ads 

St. Paul based Podiumwear Custom Sports Apparel has made ski suits for a number of ads running during the games.  Kashi, BP and Citibank are all airing ads featuring skiers, and the suits they are wearing were made right here in St. Paul.   “We started getting calls this summer from agencies looking to feature Nordic and Alpine skiers in their ad campaigns,” commented Director of Marketing Jessica Lutter.   “The athletes needed specific custom suits for the different campaigns and we were happy to help.”

Unlike Podiumwear’s standard order process, where a team or club submits an idea for a ski suit and jacket, creatives worked with directors, producers and clients to dictate the design of these ad-specific suits.  “We worked from sketches detailing what they were trying to accomplish in the ads and went from there,” said Podiumwear Art Director Taylor Wegner.

Over a two-month period, Podiumwear created twelve different suits and jackets for five ad campaigns featuring Nordic, Nordic Combined and Alpine skiing.  “It’s important to find a partner with credibility,” Hayworth Media Executive Chris Dennehy commented. “Podiumwear is a trusted manufacturer of high-quality suits and is highly respected in the ski world.”

The suits were completed during the summer, with most of the shoots taking place on glaciers in summer and early fall.  “We’re mostly working on cycling and running gear in the summer, but last summer we were helping companies prepare for their winter games,” said Podiumwear owner Reid Lutter.  “It is exciting to see our uniforms in ads pumping up winter sports.  It’s a new phenomenon to see nordic skiing in national ad campaigns, and we are thrilled to play a part.”
