  • Borah Teamwear offers exclusive Birchleggings Club Nordic Apparel

October 15, 2014. Coon Valley, WI — Borah Teamwear, a long-time supporter and recent sponsor of the American Birkebeiner, has collaborated with the renowned Birchleggings Club, providing an exclusive custom Nordic apparel collection available to the 1300 plus members.

The genesis and purpose for the Birchleggings Club was from a letter that was written by John Kotar, one of the Birkie Founders, to the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation Board of Directors in 1992. Using the Founders Group as a nucleus, the idea was to create an organization that would remain after all the original founders were gone or no longer participating in the American Birkebeiner ski race, by recognizing all those skiers who completed 20 Birkebeiner races (not necessarily in consecutive order).

The design theme compliments the historic bib color of purple and gold, and will certainly be one easily recognized (and respected) on the trail. “We’re honored to be working with the Birchleggings Club on their 2014/15 apparel offering,” said Chris Jackson, Borah’s Owner and CEO. “The goal was to create a design that would appeal to a wide range of members, from elite wave skiers, to classic only skiers, and I couldn’t be more proud of our design team, creating a custom collection which maintains the authenticity of the club, yet incorporates a modern design,” added Jackson.

Click here to see the collection and look for Jackson sporting the purple and gold theme in the 2015 American Birkebeiner, as he too, joined the club just last year.

  • Borah Teamwear Launches Individual-Custom Ski Suit Platform

Nordic_IC_LaunchAugust 28, 2014. Coon Valley, WI. It’s time to say goodbye to order minimums for custom ski racing suits. Borah Teamwear is now offering their newest design platform, Individual-Custom, in hopes to provide high-quality custom ski suits to everyone, even those without a specific team affiliation.

The platform allows users to pick unique ski suit designs, change up to three colors, select a thread color and order just one custom ski suit right there on the spot. Best yet, Individual-Custom suits are precision-crafted and made-to-order in just five business days, shipping directly from the company’s headquarters in Wisconsin.  Only Borah’s ever-popular Pro XC Suit is available for Individual-Custom, with the Women’s Pro XC Suit model to debut in early-September.

“Made in the USA is the only way we’re able to offer such a service,” said Raven Stevenson, Borah’s Production Manager. “We have 100 percent control from the website to the shipping dock, as we need to ensure not a second is lost. When you’re attempting to manufacture a quality customized product, in a quick and efficient way, control of all variables is the name of the game,” added Stevenson.

Why such a big deal? Historically, most custom apparel companies, including Borah, have required a minimum order quantity to even start a custom design. These minimums ranged anywhere from 5 to 15 units per style. Worse yet, customers would have to wait as long as 3-4 weeks once their design was approved for production and delivery!

“For so many years we’ve had to turn customers away that couldn’t meet our minimums, said Ben Wizner,” Borah’s Marketing Director. “There had to be a solution, and one we could use to enhance our product offering at the same time. “Individual-Custom is the perfect mix of popular products with a touch of truly custom flair,” added Wizner.

In addition to Nordic, Borah is launching the Individual-Custom platform across all sport categories they serve, including cycling, running, triathlon, alpine ski, and corporate wear. Further expansion within the platform will include additional product styles to choose from in each sport category.

The event, run by Race Director Jack Zabrowski (pictured far left), raised enough funds to create about a mile of new single track for the expanding CAMBA trail system.

(August 2, 2013) COON VALLEY, Wis. — The Mt. Borah Foundation is proud to announce a $6,500.00 donation to the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association. The funds were raised through the inaugural Mt. Borah Epic mountain bike race, held June 1, 2013. In its first year, the Mt. Borah Epic saw more than 200 racers compete on 30 miles of epic single track trails between Cable and Hayward, WI. The course profiled both old school single track and newly designed trails, making for a unique blend of single track racing.  One of the more exciting features was the “Gravity Cavity,” which had riders descending down a series of banked turns through a natural ravine.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the excitement surrounding our first year of the event,” said Jack Zabrowski, Epic Race Director. “The community support we received was incredible, from volunteers, to racers, to all the local businesses, we simply could not have asked for more,” added Zabrowski.  CAMBA Executive Director Ron Bergin, who gratefully accepted the donation, said that he expects the Mt. Borah Epic to become one of the Midwest’s premier events. “To be able to host a race of this caliber, in cooperation with our Festival of the Trails event, and all of the race profits going to benefit our trails, well, what could be better than that?” said Bergin.

The Mt. Borah Epic crew is already hard at work planning next year’s event. Anyone interested in staying up to date on all the exciting details for 2014 are encouraged to visit the event’s website at www.mtborahepic.com.
