OSLO, Norway — In the final race of International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Championships at Holmenkollen, Norway’s own Johannes Thingnes Bø proved to be a crowd-pleaser in front of tens of thousands of fans on Sunday. He eked out the win in the men’s 15-kilometer mass start by 2.8 seconds over France’s Martin Fourcade, and Norwegian veteran Ole Einar Bjørndalen took bronze, 6.7 seconds back.
For the U.S., Lowell Bailey and Tim Burke placed 10th and 12th, respectively, leaving them both relatively satisfied with their results.

OSLO, Norway — On the final day of International Biathlon Union (IBU) World Championships at Holmenkollen’s famous venue, both Susan Dunklee of the U.S. and Canada’s Rosanna Crawford posted their best-ever results in a championships mass start, in 11th and 15th, respectively. For another American, Hannah Dreissigacker, it was the last international race of her career, as she finished 27th in the prestigious final competition.
France’s Marie Dorin Habert took gold in the 12.5-kilometer mass start, shooting clean and finishing 7.3 seconds ahead of Germany’s Laura Dahlmeier in second and 8.1 seconds ahead of Finland’s Kaisa Mäkäräinen in third.
