Based in the National Capital region, we have excellent facilities and enjoy an extended season due to our snowmaking network. We have a successful high performance racing program, with a strong volunteer coach/admin support structure.

    We are looking to add to our paid coaching staff for the upcoming season, full-time and/or part-time jobs are available. Salary/position would be commensurate with coaching, certification success and experience. Bilingualism would be an asset.  We pay competitive salaries with benefits.

    • Coaching elite cross country skiers
    • Athlete assessment
    • Annual training plan management
    • Race waxing and wax selection
    • Management of volunteer coaching staff

    Bethel Outing ClubThe Bethel Outing Club in Bethel, Maine, is looking for a part-time community nordic coach. Responsibilities include leading Bill Koch youth programs, coordinating and supporting activities and events with nordic teams and programs at local schools, communicating with local community about youth & adult nordic & other athletic events and trainings, instructing technique and waxing clinics.
    Qualifications: Strong Nordic skiing background, Nordic coaching experience (especially with youth), strong leadership and communication skills, organized, proactive, visionary.
    Duties: Winter 2014-2015
    • Bill Koch- pre-season trainings, run/coordinate Sunday trainings, possibly with parent help, Middle school racer help with younger kids, provide training help at their level too
    • Lead Bill Koch Festival contingent, waxing, tent, etc.
    • Recruitment (Bill Koch programs, Elementary school kids for Middle School nordic program, parents, new BOC families, etc.)
    • Coordinate support for various ski programs at all area schools, including break weeks
    • Coordinate end of season events for after school programs- relay races, on snow celebration
    • Run/coordinate clinics for Elementary/Middle/High School coaches, Bill Koch parents-technique, roller ski, waxing, etc.
    • Communicating with Club about Youth AND Adult activities, promoting past and future events
    • Communication Clearinghouse/Liaison for schedules of healthy non-competitive activities for Youth and Adults
    • Coordinate kids events at BOC Flying Moose race
    • Coordinate activities, events with neighboring town Nordic program
    • Tracking of participants in Nordic programs
    • Compose an end of season report and a recommended timeline for summer and fall programming priorities, monthly meeting schedule

    Job Notice: Part Time Coach

    XC Ottawa is looking to hire a part time coach to oversee our athletes’ training and development. We currently have 11 athletes as well as 2 summer training partners. Our team is self-administered and all trip organization, team administration and other duties are performed by the team. We require a coach to design training programs, organize and run weekly practices, as well as monitor athletes’ training.

    This position is part-time, and would involve a level of commitment of approximately 10 hours/week. The duties of the coach would include:

    • Designing personalized yearly training program for all XC Ottawa athletes.
    • Organizing and providing coaching support for 2 group training sessions per week (one weeknight practice, and one weekend morning practice).
    • Monitoring athlete’s training via SportLog.ca and providing feedback.
    • Providing race support/waxing at major races (particularly Nationals and Trials).
    • Attending major training camps (2-3 three-day weekends per year).

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience coaching high-level senior cross-country skiers. Coaches must be sufficiently fit to ski, rollerski or run with athletes, and have sufficient background in skiing to provide technical feedback to athletes. Remuneration will depend on the certification and experience of the applicant.

    Requirements

    • Must have train to compete coaching level, or equivalent.
    • Must have strong technical background in skiing.
    • Must have previous sport coaching experience.

    Summit Nordic Seeking Part-Time Junior Coach

    Summit Nordic Ski Club (Summit County, Colorado) is fielding letters of interest and resumes for a part time J2-OJ coach for the 2013-14 competition season.

    SNSC participates in West Yellowstone, US Nationals, 4 JN qualifiers and the December NRL.

    2013 race season results were: 1 skier (alumni) to World Juniors and 7 kids to Jr Nationals (Fairbanks) (RMN). Currently, 3 skiers are invited to Western REG and 2 Skiers are attending the National J2 Camp.

    We have 22 kids enrolled in our Summer Training Group and use of a top quality strength training facility. Winter training is at 3 Nordic venues within a 15-mile radius.
