  • 2017 AXCS National Masters Named

    The 2017 AXCS National Masters held in conjunction with the annual City of Lakes Loppet Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota wrapped up on Sunday with the naming of the honorary 2017 U.S. Masters XC Ski Team.
    Based on the top individual in each masters age group, the team was selected using a modified World Cup point system over the best 2 of 2 events at the NM2017. Because the Festival offers multiple race distances in both classic and freestyle techniques, in order to be eligible for the Masters Team designation, skiers had to race the specified official NM2017 distance offered each day.

    Classic events on Saturday and freestyle events on Sunday both took place on 6k and 4.8k loops of nearly entirely manmade snow offering generally excellent race conditions. The race courses used for the NM2017 will make up the core of the extended courses to be offered next January 19-26, 2018 as the 2018 Masters World Cup comes to Minneapolis.

    The skiers named to the U.S. Masters XC Ski Team will all receive a distinctive uniform piece from Podiumwear — the official sponsor of the U.S. Masters Team.

  • Podiumwear Announces New and Improved Products for 2014/2015 Nordic Season

    Women’s Silver Suit, Silver Nordic Vest and Upgraded Men’s and Women’s Gold Suits are among the additions.

    St. Paul, Minn. –  Podiumwear has improved several products in it’s custom nordic line-up and has added some completely new products as well.

    Last year’s introduction of the Jessie Diggin’s Women’s Line was so well received that we are adding a Women’s Silver Race Suit to the lineup.  The new suit uses the same Podiumwear-exclusive fabric comprised of a textured yarn, with both thermal and wicking properties. While its technical properties are identical to the Men’s Silver suit, it is cut for a woman’s body with added arm gussets in the top and a women’s cut on the bottom.  “Offering another race suit option for women at a lower price point allows more teams access to a women-specific suit,” said Podiumwear owner Reid Lutter.  “We plan on working with Jessie Diggins to grow the women’s line until all of our clients have access to gear made specifically for a woman.”

    The Jessie Diggins Women’s Gold Suit has also undergone some changes.  This summer Jessie worked with Podiumwear product developers to tweak the lines on the Gold suit bottom so that it conforms a bit better and is even more comfortable.  “I have had so much fun working with Podiumwear to make women’s suits, jackets and warm-ups that I feel really proud of,”  said Diggins.  “I can’t wait to see more women and girls out there in gear made specifically for them.  It’s awesome!”

    Podiumwear is also introducing  a new Nordic Vest to its product line.  The Vest uses a wind and water-resistant fabric for the front panels and an extra-breathable back panel for improved air-flow.   The zippered hip pockets are a favorite feature.  The nordic vest is a great layering piece that teams will want to add to their gear bag.

    “Vests are key piece in a nordic athlete’s layering system and we are so happy about this one,” said Reid Lutter.  “We see a lot of teams out there with custom team uniforms but then some of the team members will have their own favorite vests that don’t match the team uniform.  We feel very confident that clients will want this vest, not only to complete their team’s look but because it is simply an amazing product with every technical detail a nordic skier would want.”

    ST. PAUL, Minn. — After months of development, Podiumwear Custom Sports Apparel has unveiled a new Gold Collection for Nordic Skiing. The new line of custom apparel is the culmination of a huge effort toward upgrading equipment, techniques, fabric and patterns. The Gold Collection is comprised of four entirely new and innovative products: The Gold Race Suit, Gold Coaches Jacket, Gold Training Jacket and Gold Warm-Up Pants.

    “With the entirely new Gold Line, we are offering the latest in fabrics and fit to help improve skiing performance, said Reid Lutter. “Now anyone who wants custom apparel can also have world class apparel. We are excited to be offering three unique lines of custom team apparel for nordic skiers: Gold, Silver and Bronze.”

    Key features of the new Gold Race Suit include a whopping 27 panels, stitched with flat seam technology, and Carbon fabric, which has been shown to have anti-microbial properties as well as to induce muscle recovery. In addition, Podiumwear offers multiple thread color options for the new contrast flat-seam stitching on this suit. Simply put, this is the most impressive custom race suit available today.

    “We wanted to have some fun with this launch,” said Podiumwear President Reid Lutter, of the contests.   “We’ve had great input from our clients about what they wanted to see in our gear.  In the process, there have been so many stories and anecdotes shared that we thought we’d invite everyone to join in.”

    Contest winners will receive apparel from Podiumwear’s 2011 Cycling line.  Podiumwear is offering a full line of men’s and women’s cycling apparel.  All garments are customizable through our dye-sublimation process.  Products include short and long sleeve jerseys, sleeveless jerseys and racerback tanks, bib and regular bike shorts as well as jackets.

    Central Cross Country Ski Association (CXC) is pleased to announce Podiumwear as their exclusive apparel supplier for the 2010-2011ski season. Starting on November 15, 2010, CXC Elite Team and CXC Junior Development Team will wear Podiumwear’s custom Nordic Proline collection, including the recently re-designed Proline Jacket.

    The Proline collection features a race suit cut from Swiss Eschler fabric in a fully contoured design for an incredible fit and freedom of movement, as well as the newly re-designed Proline jacket featuring Podiumwear’s Stockholm Gold fabric: a pliable water resistant/breathable fabric with dynamic stretch.
